Optec USA’s Daniel Suarez along with Princeton Brain & Spine Care’s Dr. Nirav Shah and Practice Administrator Leo D’Orazio were proud to participate in their second medical missions effort in the Bonao region of the Dominican Republic.
These missions are to provide spinal care at the Cigar Family Charitable Foundation school and medical facility for 5,000 children and their families within the region.
The school and medical facility were founded in 2001 by the Fuente and Newman families who wanted to give back to the country that produces the best Cigars in the world. They wanted to make a positive change in the lives of children and their families within the region. Their mission: “To provide a significant humanitarian impact in the communities in the Dominican Republic resulting in a better quality of life to those who experience a lack of education, poor access to health care and nutrition and who have little or no sustainable employment.” The foundation has partnered with the Instituto Dominicano de Desarrollo Integral (IDDI), and has made a difference within the community through their educational programs, health services, water purification system and sports programs just to name a few.
OPTEC USA is looking forward to support this cause in the future.
